This publication showcases the high-quality work of OWL’s 8th graders over the year. In English class, students explored different perspectives by retelling stories, writing memoirs, and creating poetry. They analyzed Angie Thomas’s “The Hate U Give” and participated in justice-themed book clubs. The aim is to prepare them for high school reading and writing challenges, reflecting their voices and talents.

Creating this publication was a team effort. Beatrice Cosgrove, Abby Horton, and Charley Cheatham led the design, while Zania Hierlmaier, George Abelson, Emily Totushek, and Maggie Jansen handled copy-editing. Nora Xiong provided illustrations, and Zania created collages. Their hard work during interim week made this publication possible, showcasing the students’ diverse and impressive work.
