I am so excited to share OWL Pride with you!  This book is the product of student work in a new course offered at OWL.  Students explored the history of LGBTQ+ comics and animation, the historical context in which queer media was created, reading diverse comics and graphic novels of their choosing, and creating original comics of their own.  It provided space for students to explore narratives that have historically been excluded from school curriculums.

This volume showcases the hard work of students throughout the school year.  Inside you will find educational comics tackling queer history, narrative comics telling personal and fantastic stories, and analytical book reviews of LGBTQ+ graphic novels and films.  Some pieces embrace queer joy, while others acknowledge the challenges and oppression that the LGBTQ+ community continues to face.  Due to size restrictions, we were unable to include every piece of writing created in this course, but we hope you find the collected works educational, entertaining, and engaging.
